You may be wondering what happens when you give PaperMountains books to scan, how do we get them to go through scanners which are designed for single pages. Do we tear them apart? the answer is No we do not, we have invested in the correct technology - specialist book scanners which not only scan the book in its natural open position without having to squash the pages flat but are also designed to keep the handling of the pages to a minimum.
What type of Books are suitable for Scanning.
Laboratory books, notebooks and ledgers may need to be kept bound in order to satisfy regulatory requirements or you may have bound documents you simply do not wish to destroy when these are scanned on a conventional scanner the area near the spine can distort where the page is curving the same as it does on a photocopier. PaperMountains get round this by using highly sophisticated book scanners which correct for the curved surface and produce an image of the document faithful to the original.
